Lizzie England is an auxiliary conversation of English classes. She helps students to practice English with different activities, as role-playing. Lizzie is from Manchester (U.K.) and she will be in Samaniego the whole school year.
-How old are you?
I’m 26 years old.
-What are you studying?
I study Spanish (QTS) with French at MMU.
-What do you like doing in your free time?
I like cooking and baking.
-What are you doing in Spain?
I’m in Spain because I have to complete a placement in a spanish speaking school in order to finish my degree.
-Is this the first time you are in Spain?
No, I have been to Spain many times before, but it is the first time I’m in the Basque Country.
-Do you like the Basque Country? Why?
I think the Basque Country is nice, I love how there’s always food on the top of bars and there’s lots of life in the streets. I think that’s standard for the whole of Spain though.
-Do you like coming into the class with Montse and Marta?
Yes, it’s interesting to see how each teacher works with their students. I’m learning a lot from them.
-What do you do in the class?
I try and get pupils to speak to me so they can practice English!
Can you give us some examples of the different activities you do?
In some classes we have done some debates, role-play and in primary school we made Christmas crackers at Christmas.
-How long are you going to stay here?
I will be here until the end of May.
-Would you like to repeat the experience? Would you come back to Samaniego school? Why?
As part of my degree I have to do another placement next year, so I will be repeating, but it will be in the UK. If I had to come back to Spain I would come back to Samaniego because there’s never a dull moment and everyone has been very welcoming.
-What are your plans for the next year?
Next year I will hopefully finish my degree, and then, I plan to apply to some other universities so I can do a master.
